BaF Vietnam to issue over 7.1 million ESOP shares

HCMC – BaF Vietnam Agriculture JSC, whose BAF shares are traded on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, has announced a plan to issue over 7.1 million shares under an employee share ownership plan (ESOP).

These shares are priced at VND10,000, below BAF’s closing price of VND22,450 on the southern exchange yesterday, June 5.

The company’s ESOP shares will be restricted from trading within one year from the issue date, with the registration and deposit period expected to be from June 10 to 17.

Regarding its business activities, BaF Vietnam recorded revenue of VND1,292 billion in the first quarter of 2024, up by 58.2% year-on-year. The first quarter’s after-tax profit reached VND118.65 billion, a 29.3-fold year-on-year increase.

With this result, BaF Vietnam has achieved around 38.8% of the annual profit target.

Closing the trading session today, June 6, BAF fell by 2% to VND22,000 per share, with a trading volume of 3.76 million shares.

On the southern market, the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange inched down by 0.79 point, or 0.06%, against the day earlier at 1,283.56 points, with 200 winners and 224 losers.

More than 893 million shares worth VND22.2 trillion were traded on the exchange, down by 3% in volume and 7% in value against yesterday’s session. Block deal transactions contributed nearly VND2.5 trillion to the overall value.

Among lenders in the VN30 basket, STB rose by 3.7% to VND30,700 per share, with over 31.3 million shares changing hands.

Lender SHB was the most actively traded stock on the market, with over 69.3 million shares transacted. It closed the trading session up by 2.6% at VND11,850 per share.

On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index lost 0.31 point, or 0.13%, versus the previous day at 244.18 points. There were more than 63.3 million shares valued at VND1.3 trillion changing hands.
