HCMC – BASF Vietnam, in collaboration with social enterprise Think Playgrounds (TPG) and four new partners, have inaugurated an inclusive playground for over 200 children with visual impairments at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School in HCMC.
The new facility, BASF’s eighth public playground project in Vietnam, aims to provide a safe and stimulating environment for local students, using structures made from eco-friendly materials.
This design fosters a connection with nature while encouraging play-based learning for the students. Volunteers from BASF Vietnam and its partners installed and decorated the facilities.
“Creating inclusive and sustainable play environments is crucial for all children, especially those with special needs,” said Erick Contreras, managing director of BASF Vietnam. “We are committed to providing spaces where they can learn, interact, and develop essential skills.”
BASF Vietnam began its partnership with TPG in 2019 to address the lack of outdoor play spaces for children. This project marks an expansion of that partnership, coinciding with BASF Vietnam’s 30th anniversary in the country.
The company has cooperated with four new distribution partners in the initiative, including Kien Vuong Co., Ltd., Nagase Vietnam Co.,Ltd., F.D&C Pharmaceutical, and Viet Duc Lubricants & Chemicals.
