Binh Thuan to set up over 4,000 beds for Covid treatment

HCMC – The south-central province of Binh Thuan received the green light from the Health Ministry to set up 4,025 beds to serve the treatment of Covid patients following the ministry’s three-level Covid treatment model, aimed at promptly coping with the spread of Covid in the province.

The provincial government has issued a plan on establishing Covid treatment facilities throughout the province, reported Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper.

Under the first level, there will be 17 facilities with a combined capacity of 2,680 beds to handle cases with mild symptoms and no underlying health conditions and suspected cases waiting for PCR test results.

Under the second level, the province will have 11 facilities with 1,090 beds to treat patients with moderate and severe symptoms and those who have underlying health conditions, are children aged five and younger, 65 years old and above, and pregnant women.

Under the third level, there will be seven facilities with 255 beds to treat patients that show major symptoms and critical illness.

According to the provincial Health Department, Binh Thuan has reported a spike in new cases in recent days, especially in Phan Thiet City and Ham Thuan Bac District.

As of 7 a.m. today, November 5, the province had recorded 6,005 infections, with 66 of them reported dead.
