HCMC – The Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau will add 61.5 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity to the national grid each year once the third phase of the Tan Thuan Wind Power Plant is completed by the end of 2026, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
The project in Tan Thuan Commune has a total capacity of 25 megawatts (MW) and is invested in by Ca Mau Investment Renewable Power JSC. Construction began on October 14.
The wind farm is scheduled to begin generation in the fourth quarter of next year. It will have four offshore turbines with a capacity of 6.25 MW each, a power metering system, on-site electricity facilities, and supporting infrastructure such as an operations building, warehouse, and inland waterway port.
The project is expected to help expand renewable energy output in Ca Mau and contribute to Vietnam’s national clean energy and carbon reduction targets.
