HCMC – Ca Na General Port in Ninh Thuan Province marked a significant milestone on Wednesday by receiving the first cargo ship of over 53,000 tons.

The Vietnamese-flagged MV VOSCO UNITY docked at the port to load 40,880 tons of granite powder destined for export to Singapore.

This event represents a crucial step in integrating land and sea transport in the region and aims to establish Ca Na Port as a key transshipment hub for the south-central coast and the Central Highlands.

This development is expected to help alleviate congestion at ports in southeastern Vietnam and HCMC.

The Ca Na General Port project, developed by Trung Nam Group, spans 85.52 hectares and includes two docks designed for general cargo, containers, and bulk goods. Alongside the port, Trung Nam Group is investing in the Ca Na Industrial Zone and the LNG Power Center Phase 1, which will have a capacity of 1,500 megawatts.

The company is also working to improve infrastructure connections between the port, the North-South Expressway, and National Highway 1. These investments aim to create a comprehensive transport system and drive sustainable economic growth in Ninh Thuan Province.
