The exhibition and fair, titled “Can Tho City – 20 years of achievements and development,” is scheduled to take place at the Can Tho Promotion Agency (CPA) venue from November 2 to 6, 2023. The event serves as a testimony to the accomplishments that Can Tho has achieved in the two decades since it became a centrally-governed city in 2004.
Nguyen Van Hong, vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho City, has recently approved the organization plan of the “Can Tho City – 20 years of achievements and development” fair and exhibition.
The objective of the event is to value the advancements achieved by the many departments and agencies at all administrative levels within the city over the last two decades.
This event is part of efforts to effectively implement Politburo Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW, dated August 5, 2020, on building and developing Can Tho City to 2030, with a vision to 2045. In addition, the relevant documents include Government Resolution No. 98/NQ- CP on August 30, 2021, which serves to implement Politburo Resolution No. 59, as well as National Assembly Resolution No. 45/2022/QH15, dated January 11, 2022, on piloting specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Can Tho City.
Moreover, the event is expected to promote Can Tho City’s potentials to both local and foreign investors. It also aims at bolstering trade linkages among companies, fostering collaborative efforts, and enabling enterprises to explore cooperation opportunities with potential partners.
The Can Tho People’s Committee has named CPA as the executing organization for the event, while provincial departments, divisions, and the People’s Committees of the city’s districts will serve as coordinating agencies.
The tasks involve the organization of a 100-booth exhibition titled “Can Tho City – 20 years of achievements and development,” which has been assigned to relevant authorities in the city, including provincial departments, administrative bodies and district-level authorities. The exhibition area will also feature privilege booths of the embassies and consulates general from various nations in Vietnam.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that the Vietnam International Agriculture Fair 2023 is set to take place during the event. This fair is expected to have 150 booths, showcasing products and services of both domestic and international enterprises in the agriculture and commerce sectors.
The “Can Tho City – 20 years of achievements and development” fair and exhibition will kick off with an inaugural ceremony scheduled for 9 a.m. on November 2, featuring cultural and musical performances at the primary stage inside the CPA venue.
As part of the event, a variety of seminars and workshops will be held, covering topics such as agriculture (organized by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development), science, technology, and innovation (held by the Department of Science and Technology), and the connection between supply and demand for technology and equipment.
Participating companies will also have the opportunity to take part in trade promotion initiatives and manufacturer-distributor business matching programs.
