Contractors chosen for North-South Expy’s two bidding packages

HCMC – Project Management Unit No. 7 under the Ministry of Transport has chosen two consortiums of contractors for the bidding packages of the Chi Thanh-Van Phong and Van Phong-Nha Trang sections of the second-phase North-South Expressway.

The VND4.4-trillion package of the Chi Thanh-Van Phong section will be carried out by a consortium comprising Trung Nam 18 E&C Construction JSC, Construction Corporation No. 1, Tu Lap Construction Co. Ltd., and Mien Trung Corporation.

Another consortium consisting of Son Hai Corporation, Tan Nam Construction JSC, and Hai Dang JSC will be in charge of the VND3.5 trillion bidding package for the Van Phong-Nha Trang section.

To ensure work on these components will start on time, the Ministry of Transport requested the investors to complete negotiations and sign agreements before December 25, 2022.

The contractors for the components of Bai Vot-Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi-Vung Ang, Quy Nhon-Chi Thanh and Van Ninh-Cam Lo were earlier chosen by Project Management Units of No 85, Ho Chi Minh Road and Thang Long.

The 729-kilometer North-South Expressway project’s second phase will pass through 12 provinces, comprising 12 subprojects with 25 bidding packages, of which the largest costs VND8 trillion.

Work on the first 12 packages will start before the end of 2022. Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang has told the project management units to coordinate with local authorities to speed up site clearance and land handover.

He has also requested the project management units to prepare documents for the remaining 13 packages and invite tenders before January 15, 2023.
