HCMC – The authorities of Danang City (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China) have agreed on the expansion of cooperation and development of seaports and seaway tourism between the two sides.
At the meeting, a representative of Guangxi said that Danang City and Guangxi Province have many similarities, such as seaports and famous scenic spots to develop tourism. He hoped the two localities would expand cooperation in port services and seaway tourism.
Danang’s authorities backed proposals as mutually discussed. The two localities have favorable conditions, such as the distance between the Danang ports and Guangxi’s and the establishment of the Consulate General of China in Danang, facilitating trade between Danang and Chinese localities and partners.
Till now, Danang has set up a friendship and official cooperation with some Chinese localities, namely Shandong, Jiangsu and the Macao Special Administrative Region, and Kunming (Yunnan Province).
Danang is the final destination of the East-West economic corridor, so sending shipments from Myanmar, Thailand and Laos to Danang ports will be convenient. Meanwhile, some Guangxi ports function as connecting ports to ship on cargo to Europe.
In 2022, after Vietnam’s reopening of international tourism, Chinese guests visiting the central coastal city reached over 15,000.
