Diwali festival celebrated in HCMC

HCMC – The Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (INCHAM) held the Diwali Gala 2024 on November 15 at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers in District 1. This also marked the 25th year of INCHAM’s journey in Vietnam.

The event was attended by members of the Indian community living in Vietnam, Vietnamese nationals, officials, and international friends.

Speaking at the event, Rajib Gupta, chairman of INCHAM, said: “This year is particularly special for INCHAM as we mark the 25th year of our association’s journey in Vietnam. Since its founding, INCHAM has remained committed to promoting economic, cultural, and social cooperation between India and Vietnam.”

Over the years, INCHAM has grown not only as a community of Indian businesses in Vietnam but as a bridge fostering relationships that go beyond commerce into the realms of culture, understanding, and shared goals, he added.

The event featured performances, including a spellbinding set by Shanmukha Priya, a finalist of Indian Idol season 12, and a comedy act by Jayvijay Sachan, known for his appearances on The Kapil Sharma Show. The event also showcased Bollywood-style dance routines and a lively DJ set.

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most significant festivals in India. It celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. The occasion also marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year, and many businesses in India start a new accounting year during the Diwali holiday.
