HCMC – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) gave a grant of US$4.65 million to Fulbright University Vietnam (FUV) on June 22 to help FUV further its goal of achieving international accreditation.

Besides this, USAID will also help FUV develop executive education and other programs, so the school can meet the demand for manpower and experts in Vietnam. FUV can also advance shared value partnerships with Vietnam’s technology, manufacturing and service sectors.

This two-year grant follows the USAID’s previous grant worth US$7.2 million to FUV for the 2017-2020 period. The previous support of the U.S. Government through USAID and the U.S. Department of State enabled FUV to lay its initial foundation, ranging from setting up its governance system and designing its curriculum to providing financial aid to fresh students.

According to U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink, FUV plays an important role in the two countries’ bilateral ties. The official reaffirmed that the United States will continue to provide support for the school.

Dam Bich Thuy, president of FUV, said that with the new grant, FUV will continue to work toward its goal of building a creative and academic teaching and learning environment in Vietnam, catering to Vietnamese students.
