Gold ring prices climb to record highs

HCMC – The price of gold rings in Vietnam rose by VND500,000 this morning, September 13, to a record high of VND79 million per tael, driven by rising global prices, according to local media reports.

Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) in HCMC increased its gold ring prices to VND77.8 million per tael for buying and VND79.1 million per tael for selling, a VND500,000 rise compared to yesterday’s close.

Other major jewelry firms, such as Bao Tin Minh Chau, Mi Hong, and DOJI, also raised their selling prices to around VND79.1 million per tael this morning, with buying prices ranging from VND77.9 million to VND78.1 million per tael.

Compared to the beginning of the year, the price of each tael of 24K plain gold ring has risen by VND16.15 million.

Meanwhile, SJC and the big-four banks have kept the price of SJC gold bars steady at VND80.5 million per tael, with the buying price unchanged at VND78.5 million per tael.

Globally, the price of gold reached an all-time high of US$2,564.2 per ounce this morning, September 13.
