HCMC – Domestic gold prices were unchanged on the morning of April 27, with SJC-branded gold bars holding steady from the close of the previous session, while the U.S. dollar at commercial banks remained unchanged against the Vietnamese dong.
At 9:08 a.m., Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) quoted SJC-branded gold bars at VND166.3 million per tael for buying and VND168.8 million per tael for selling, unchanged from the close of last week.
From April 1 to April 27, SJC-branded gold bar prices declined by VND8.7–9.2 million per tael but remained over VND19 million per tael higher than global prices.
Similarly, gold ring prices were unchanged from the previous session. Bao Tin Manh Hai listed gold rings at VND165.8 million per tael for buying and VND168.7 million per tael for selling, unchanged from the previous session. Phu Quy Jewelry quoted gold rings at VND165.8 million per tael for buying and VND168.8 million per tael for selling, unchanged from the close of last week.
Globally, gold traded at around US$4,698.6 per ounce at 8:49 a.m. (Vietnam time), down US$10.2 per ounce from the same time in the previous session.
Silver prices edged down on the morning of April 27 compared to the previous session.
At 8:32 a.m., Ancarat quoted silver at VND75.653 million per kilogram for buying and VND78 million per kilogram for selling, down VND54,000–53,000 from the close of last week. Phu Quy Jewelry listed silver at VND76.239 million per kilogram for buying and VND78.586 million per kilogram for selling, down VND240,000–267,000.
Globally, silver traded at US$75.37 per ounce, down US$0.19 per ounce from the previous session.
On the same morning, domestic banks did not update foreign exchange rates due to the Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary.
At commercial banks, the U.S. dollar was unchanged. Vietcombank quoted the greenback at VND26,138 for buying and VND26,368 for selling, unchanged from the close of the previous session.
