HCMC – Hanoi City has agreed with the Ministry of Transport to reopen regular domestic air routes linking the capital city with HCMC and Danang City from October 10 to 20.

Passengers arriving in Hanoi City from HCMC must undergo a concentrated quarantine period of seven days and continue to exercise self quarantine for another seven days, while others from Danang City must self-quarantine at their residence for seven days, according to a recent dispatch sent by the Hanoi City government to the Ministry of Transport.

Only one daily round-trip flight will be operated on each of the HCMC/Danang-Hanoi routes, while aircraft shall not have more than 50% of their seats in use.

The flights between HCMC and Hanoi City will only allow passengers who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with the second dose administered at least two weeks before departure, or those who have recovered from the disease within the last six months.

Besides, all passengers have to test negative for Covid-19 within 72 hours before their flights and strictly comply with anti-Covid protocols, the local media reported.

Apart from meeting all requirements mentioned above, passengers flying from Danang City to Hanoi City must have their samples taken for Covid testing during their seven-day home quarantine period on the first and sixth days after their arrival. Also, they will monitor their health for another week.

Meanwhile, passengers flying from Hanoi City to HCMC or Danang City must meet all safety requirements of the Ministry of Transport and the two localities.

In addition, the Hanoi government proposed the Ministry of Transport direct the the national aviation authority to collaborate with other relevant units and provinces and cities to transport residents from the Noi Bai International Airport back to their localities.

The airport in the city must divide itself into separate zones for passengers who arrive and stay in Hanoi, those who fly to Hanoi and immediately travel to other provinces or cities, and passengers who come to the city for public duties to facilitate anti-pandemic efforts.
