HCMC – The Hanoi Department of Customs, in coordination with an anti-smuggling force, discovered and confiscated over 58 kilograms of illicit drugs hidden in chocolate packs sent from the Netherlands to Vietnam.

The drugs include over 6.7 kilograms of ketamine and 51.7 kilograms of synthetic drugs, the local media reported.

The General Department of Vietnam Customs last night, January 18, announced that the department detained one drug trafficker and seized a large volume of illicit drugs sent from the European country by plane.

The illicit drugs were hidden in eight packages of goods weighing 154 kilograms transported to the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi City on January 12, according to Vietnam Customs.

Vietnam Customs is working with the Hanoi police and relevant authorities to expand the probe into the drug trafficking ring.
