HCMC – The 12th HCMC Ao Dai Festival officially opened on March 6 at Nguyen Hue Walking Street.

The festival runs from March 1 to March 31, with peak activities scheduled from March 6 to March 8. The event aims to promote the ao dai in modern life and introduce the culture and people of HCMC to domestic and international visitors.

Activities are being held at the Ho Chi Minh President Monument Park, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, the export showroom at 92–96 Nguyen Hue Street in Saigon Ward, stations along Metro Line No. 1, and various historical and cultural sites, tourist destinations, hotels, and landmark buildings across the city.

A highlight of this year’s program is a large-scale ao dai folk dance performance expected to attract around 50,000 participants. The event is scheduled for the morning of March 8 at multiple locations across the city.

The festival also features art programs and fashion shows, along with exhibitions dedicated to the ao dai. Visitors can join exchanges with designers and artists and participate in activities designed for residents and tourists.

Community engagement activities include an online ao dai photo contest, a painting-on-ao dai competition, ao dai donation programs, and tailoring services offered at discounted prices. Free photo sessions for people wearing ao dai will also be organized at several locations in the city.
