HCMC – The HCMC Health Department recently told medical facilities citywide to stay ready as new daily Covid cases are rising.

The department noted that Covid field hospital No.13 would be reopened if critical cases surge, the local media reported.

The HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases was told to take charge of arranging health workers once Covid field hospital No.13 resumes operations. Also, it has to map out Covid response scenarios to handle severe cases.

The department asked all the hospitals, medical centers and facilities throughout the city to actively review their resources in terms of personnel, medical equipment and supplies to deal with the possible complicated developments of the pandemic.

They also have to ramp up clinical consultation with experts from the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases for Covid patients being adults, and with those from three children’s hospitals for child patients.

The HCMC Center for Disease Control was tasked with speeding up efforts to monitor Covid cases and vaccinations among people of vulnerable groups.

The district-level medical centers must team up with the local anti-Covid agencies to effectively detect, manage, and provide care for Covid patients under home treatment, as well as adopt Covid control measures.
