HCMC – The People’s Council of Dong Nai Province passed a series of resolutions on socio-economic development at its 9th session today, January 16, including one letting Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) execute a major railway project linking HCMC’s Thu Thiem New Urban Area and Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai.
The council’s resolution consents to designate the HCMC People’s Committee as the competent authority to carry out the investment and construction of the Thu Thiem–Long Thanh railway under the public–private partnership (PPP).
The project has been identified as a strategic transport corridor linking HCMC and neighboring Dong Nai. Once completed and put into operation, it would ensure seamless connectivity among interlinked transport projects between Tan Son Nhat and Long Thanh international airports.
At the meeting, the council also included the inter-regional transport project Beltway 4 of HCMC in the province’s 2026 public investment plan, aiming to complete the strategic infrastructure system, enhance regional connectivity, and ease traffic pressure on Dong Nai and the southern key economic region as a whole.
