HCMC – The HCMC Department of Tourism today, April 12, coordinated with the 175 Military Hospital and Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company to conduct a survey flight to develop helicopter tours for guests who want to view the city from the sky.

This is part of the city’s plan to attract visitors in the “Welcome to HCMC” tourism promotion program, the local media reported.

The Department of Tourism will connect leading tourism firms to develop tours for guests.

The 175 Military Hospital will provide the helicopter parking area and healthcare services for passengers, while the Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company will be responsible for drafting schedules for flights and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations as required by the Ministry of National Defense.

There will be short- and medium-range tours. During the short-range tours, passengers can witness HCMC’s downtown area, or the downtown area and Can Gio in 30-45 minutes.

Meanwhile, on the medium-range tours, which last some 60 minutes, visitors can fly from HCMC’s downtown or Can Gio to the Endless Field tourist site in Long An Province.

Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the HCMC Department of Tourism, said the tour was a new and special tourism product of the city and would be launched on Reunification Day (April 30).

The product is expected to attract tourists after the city reopened tourism, helping develop HCMC into a leading lively tourism city in Asia, Hoa added.
