HCMC — Authorities in HCMC received more than 26,000 requests for land and housing-related transactions in the first 11 days of July, the city’s Department of Agriculture and Environment said.

From July 1 to 11, the municipal Land Registration Office processed 26,067 submissions, including 1,793 online applications and five cases outside administrative boundaries. Commune-level offices handled 11,000 of the total requests.

The department said it had completed five tasks assigned in the first phase of the city’s administrative restructuring plan. These included integrating over five million land plots from the former Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces into a unified land management software system, VBDLIS.

The integration followed guidelines from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and aims to streamline land management in the merged area.

The department also finalized a proposal to restructure 22 district-level compensation and resettlement boards, bringing them under its direct control. The proposal has been submitted to the Department of Home Affairs for evaluation.

The reorganization would centralize oversight of land clearance and resettlement, particularly for key infrastructure projects. The city’s agricultural management system has also been reviewed and adjusted to align with the new governance model.
