HCMC – HCMC is accelerating the land handover to the Beltway No.3 project, with 90% of the task to be completed before June 30 this year, earlier than required by the central Government.

The rest of the cleared land will be handed over by the end of this year.

The HCMC People’s Committee issued a plan on February 21 for the implementation of the Beltway No.3 project, requiring relevant departments and agencies to carry out compensation and site clearance synchronously in all localities.

As per the plan, the city will work with neighboring Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An provinces to complete the 76-kilometer section of Beltway No.3 in HCMC by 2025 at the request of the Government.

To ensure the project meets the deadline, the authority of HCMC requested relevant agencies and localities, such as Thu Duc City, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi and Binh Chanh District, to report on their compensation and resettlement progress each week, month and quarter.

Previously, the Government asked HCMC to hand over 70% of the cleared land for the Beltway No.3 project before June 30 and complete 100% of the land handover by the end of December this year.

Beltway No. 3 span over 76 kilometers, passing through HCMC, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Long An. Of which, a 47-kilometer section will sprawl across HCMC’s Thu Duc City and three outlying districts of Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, and Binh Chanh.

The land acquisition area totals over 412.5 hectares, with 1,683 households relocated.
