HCMC – HCMC’s tourism revenue has surged 30.2% year-on-year in the first two months of this year to VND37.4 trillion, according to the HCMC Party Committee portal (www.hcmcpv.org.vn).
The city has welcomed one million international visitors since early this year, a 15.7% spike versus the same period last year.
In February alone, HCMC has recorded 551,000 international arrivals, up 13.2% year-on-year. Domestic tourism has also grown, with 2.92 million local visitors, a 2.9% rise from 2024.
HCMC has achieved 14.4% of its full-year tourism revenue target, with domestic travelers totaling 5.6 million in the first two months of the year.
Authorities aim to sustain this growth through cultural events, including the 2025 HCMC Ao Dai Festival in March. The city will also take part in the 10th Vietnam-Japan Festival to enhance international tourism promotion.
The Department of Tourism is expanding specialty tours in Thu Duc City and other districts, while waterway tourism remains a key focus under a 2023-2025 development plan. HCMC is also investing in cultural-historical tourism, agro-tourism, and eco-tourism. Efforts to enhance nighttime tourism seek to strengthen the city’s entertainment sector and attract more visitors.
