HCMC – HCMC’s budget revenue had amounted to over VND344.8 trillion by the end of August, equivalent to 71% of the full-year estimate and up 15% versus the year-ago period, according to the HCMC Statistical Office.

Of the total revenue, domestic sources contributed VND246.8 trillion, rising by nearly 24% compared to the same period last year.

In particular, corporate income tax revenue rose by 17.5%, personal income tax collections grew by nearly 15%, and real estate-related taxes surged by 56%. These numbers indicate steady growth in specific sectors.

Revenue from import-export activities totaled about VND83.6 trillion between January and August, equivalent to 64% of the 2024 target and showing an uptick of 0.3%.

However, crude oil revenue has not yet rebounded, largely due to a sharp decline in oil prices. The city’s crude oil revenue was estimated at VND14.35 trillion, equivalent to over 80% of the annual estimate but down by 12.6% against the previous year.

HCMC’s budget revenue target for 2024 is set at VND482.9 trillion, a 2.8% increase from last year’s target. This includes nearly VND334 trillion in domestic revenue (up almost 14%), VND17.9 trillion from crude oil (down nearly 28%), and VND130.8 trillion from import-export activities (up over 8%).
