HCMC – Heineken Vietnam has achieved 2030 water balancing ambition in the Tien River basin, five years ahead of its original schedule.

Accordingly, the company has replenished the total amount of 690,640,000 liters of water to nature each year in the area, more than the total amount of water used in its products and evaporated during the brewing process in the Tien Giang brewery.

It represents not only an important milestone forward in Heineken Vietnam’s sustainability journey, but also a meaningful contribution to safeguarding national water resources, particularly in water-stressed areas.

Since 2022, Heineken Vietnam has partnered with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, WWF-Vietnam, and the Management Board of Protected Areas and National Parks to implement initiatives aimed at restoring, conserving, and effectively managing water resources in Vietnam’s key river basins, including the Red River, the Dong Nai River, and the Tien River.

As of the end of 2024, through its partnership program, the firm had replenished 559,440,000 liters of water to the Tien River basin.

This achievement stemmed from the joint efforts to conserve water resources at the Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Conservation Area, including planting and nurturing 12.3 hectares of melaleuca and native trees, developing a hydrological management strategy, upgrading water control gates, and providing mobile pump boats for fire prevention.

The firm also worked closely with local authorities and partners to implement clean water initiatives for communities, such as supporting the installation of bore wells, building water pipelines, storage tanks, filtration, and desalination systems in various provinces.

Through these efforts, the company conserved 131,524,000 liters of water in the Tien River basin, helping improve access to clean water for local communities.
