HCMC – The Mekong Delta will host its first hot air balloon festival in Tri Ton District, An Giang Province, to celebrate the country’s National Day on September 2.
The festival, which will take place from September 2 to 3 at the Soai Chek-Ta Pa sports and tourism complex, is expected to attract around 10,000 visitors.
The event will feature 17 hot air balloons of various types. Of them, 14 first-grade hot air balloons will fly at an altitude of 20-40 meters, two others will take visitors sightseeing and another one will be for visitors to take photographs.
More than 600 people will gather to form the S-shape of the country, while the national flag, measuring 200 square meters, will be flown at an altitude of 50 meters. The province will also organize a lantern night for tourists at the Thai Quoc Hung Square on September 2.
Tran Thi Thu Hue, director of the Tri Ton Sports Center, said this will be the first large-scale hot air balloon festival in the delta. The organizer has made thorough preparations for the event.
