HCMC – Ho Chi Minh City Securities Corporation (HSC, HOSE: HCM) will finalize the shareholder list on June 25 for a rights issue of nearly 360 million shares.
The firm plans to offer nearly 360 million new shares through a 2:1 rights issue. Shareholders will receive one right for each share held, with two rights required to purchase one new share at VND10,000.
The newly issued shares will be restricted from transfer for one year following the completion of the offering.
Proceeds from the offering are expected to be used primarily to supplement margin lending activities, accounting for 70% of the total. The remaining 30% will be allocated to proprietary trading operations.
In terms of business performance, HSC posted total operating revenue of nearly VND1 trillion in the first quarter of 2025, up 15.9% year-on-year, according to its consolidated financial report.
However, operating expenses surged 48.1% to over VND613 billion, resulting in an 18.1% drop in after-tax profit to VND226.7 billion.
Closing the trading session today, June 11, HCM remained unchanged at VND25,500, with nearly 4.3 million shares changing hands.
On the southern bourse, the VN-Index lost 1.03 points, or 0.08% day-on-day, to close at 1,315.2, with 157 gainers and 129 decliners.
Around 606.6 million shares worth VND14.47 trillion were traded on bourse, down 23% in volume and 21.5% in value compared to the previous session. Of this, block deal transactions accounted for 75.7 million shares valued at a total of VND1.32 trillion.
The biggest decliner in the VN30 basket was VJC, down 1.57% to VND87,600, followed by PLX, which dropped 1.55% to VND34,950. Other notable losers included GVR and BCM.
FPT remained the top performer in the VN30 basket, closing up 1.9% at VND117,900 after extending its gains from the morning session.
SHB continued to lead the market by liquidity, with 49.4 million shares traded, followed by NVL with 26.2 million shares transacted.
On the northern exchange, the HNX-Index edged down by 0.17 point, or 0.08%, to 226.23, with 62 gainers and 68 losers. Total trading volume reached 68.4 million shares, worth VND1.21 trillion, down 3% in both volume and value compared to the previous session.
