HCMC – A Vietjet flight arrived on Phu Quoc Island on the afternoon of August 30, bringing nearly 300 Taiwanese tourists to the island off the coast of the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang.
The Taiwanese visitors spend five days on Phu Quoc, where they are expected to visit An Thoi island, take a Hon Thom cable car ride, drop by Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc and attend unique music shows.
Tran Minh Khoa, chairman of the Phu Quoc City People’s Committee, said that Taiwanese tourists have been coming to Phu Quoc in droves since the beginning of the year.
For the National Day holiday from August 31 to September 3, Phu Quoc is expected to see a significant influx of international visitors.
According to the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, the province has welcomed over 7.6 million visitors so far this year, including an estimated 660,000 international tourists. Total revenue from tourism is projected to amount to VND18 trillion.
