Indian expert becomes Vietnam’s latest Covid-19 case

HCMC – The Ministry of Health has reported one new Covid-19 case, a 35-year-old Indian expert, who was immediately quarantined after arriving at HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport on board flight 6E9471 on October 6, taking the country’s tally to 1,110 as of tonight, October 12.

The man tested positive for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, for the first time on October 7. Three days later, he developed symptoms of fever and headache. His second test result came back positive for the virus today. The patient is being treated at the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

Earlier, six other Covid-19 cases onboard the same Flight 6E9471 had been confirmed in Dong Thap and Dong Nai provinces.

Up to now, 1,025 Covid-19 patients in the country have fully recovered, while 35 others have died. Among the remaining active Covid-19 cases, 25 patients have tested negative for Covid-19 one to three times.
