HCMC – Insurance payouts related to the damage caused by typhoon Yagi are estimated to reach VND7 trillion, with over 9,000 cases of property and vehicle damage reported as of 5 p.m. on September 12, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The typhoon has directly resulted in 14 deaths and triggered 18 health insurance-related cases, the ministry reported.
Insurance companies have deployed support teams to quickly assess damages and process claims, according to the Insurance Supervisory Authority under the Ministry of Finance.
Insurance companies have expanded their hotlines and boosted staffing to provide round-the-clock customer support.
Authorities noted that current damage estimates are preliminary and could rise as further assessments are being conducted.
