HCMC – The Thang Long Project Management Board has asked the Ministry of Construction to approve a consortium of investors to develop phase one of the Dau Giay–Tan Phu expressway under the public-private partnership (PPP) format.
The proposed investor is a joint venture between Truong Hai Traffic Infrastructure Development and Son Hai Group. The project has an estimated total investment of nearly VND8.5 trillion, including VND7.2 trillion in private capital and VND1.3 trillion in state funding.
According to the proposal, construction is expected to be substantially completed in 2026, with the expressway scheduled to open to traffic in 2027.
Following an evaluation of bids, the Thang Long Project Management Board recommended that the Department of Road Management approve the consortium to execute the project. The investor has proposed a capital contribution of VND7.1 trillion, excluding state funds. The operation and toll collection period is set at nearly 17 years.
Phase one of the Dau Giay–Tan Phu expressway spans over 60 kilometers. It will feature four lanes and a roadbed width of 17 meters. Sections with weak soil foundations, along with bridges and emergency stops, will be constructed to a wider standard, with a roadbed of approximately 25 meters.
The expressway will start at Km0+000, near the interchange with National Highway 1 in Dau Giay Town, Thong Nhat District, Dong Nai Province. It will connect to the HCMC–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway. The endpoint is at Km60+243.83 in Phu Trung Commune, Tan Phu District, Dong Nai Province, linking with the planned Tan Phu–Bao Loc expressway in Lam Dong Province.
Once fully completed, the expressway will be designed for a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour, with four lanes and a roadbed width of 24 meters.
