HCMC – The Consulate General of Italy in HCMC on May 31 held a ceremony to celebrate the 78th Republic Day of Italy.
Speaking at the ceremony, Enrico Padula, consul general of Italy in HCMC, said multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Italy has grown over the years.
Bui Xuan Cuong, vice chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, highlighted the Italian government’s support for Vietnam’s economic development and projects in healthcare, education and other fields.
Italy is Vietnam’s third largest EU trading partner after Germany and the Netherlands. Vietnam is Italy’s largest trading partner in Southeast Asia. Last year saw bilateral trade between the two countries reaching nearly US$6 billion.
