HCMC – Four people were killed after a landslide hit a construction site in the northern province of Phu Tho this morning, September 1, Tuoi Tre newspaper reported.
They were working at a construction site inside the Phu Tho Province Vocation and General Technology Center in Gia Cam District, Viet Tri City, when a landslide led to a talus measuring 7 meters in height and 20 meters in length collapsing, burying them all, at some 8:30 a.m.
A rescue team was immediately sent to the site to dig out the victims but all of them were found dead, chairman of Viet Tri City Nguyen Ngoc Son told Tuoi Tre.
He said the bodies of the victims have been handed over to their families. The leaders of Phu Tho Province and Viet Tri City will visit and offer relief to the victims’ families later. The police are conducting a further investigation into the cause of the accident.
