HCMC – The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) has connected a 220kV transmission line to the 500kV power substation serving Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province, reported the local media.

The project, managed by the Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB), became operational on December 30. Located in Loc An Commune, Long Thanh District, the substation has been in service since 2022. The newly connected line will provide electricity to Dong Nai, HCMC, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

The Long Thanh airport project is designated as a special-grade energy infrastructure facility. EVNNPT develops the project, with SPMB overseeing construction and Power Transmission Company No. 4 responsible for its operations.

In a separate development, the 220kV Chon Thanh-Ben Cat transmission line was integrated into the national grid on December 28. This 28.2-kilometer line spans Binh Phuoc and Binh Duong provinces.

Executed in two phases, the Chon Thanh-Ben Cat project is designed to alleviate load on the 500kV Chon Thanh substation and improve power supply reliability in Binh Duong and neighboring areas.
