Soon after entering Vietnam, L’Oréal Vietnam has launched its Community Day, known as L’Oréal Citizen Day, giving its employees in Vietnam the opportunity to participate in a wide range of community activities initiated by the company. Over 16 years and 16 editions of Community Day in Vietnam, the French cosmetics brand has carried out numerous impactful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Multiple CSR activities in August
On August 21, as many as 500 employees of L’Oréal Vietnam took part in community-focused activities organized by the company.
At Nam Cat Tien National Park, employees planted and cared for trees, marking the fifth consecutive year of contributing to forest restoration efforts there.
In addition, L’Oréal Vietnam organized a charity class at Hoa Hao Shelter School. Nearly 100 employees joined 75 disadvantaged or orphaned children in a session on scouting activities and basic healthcare, with support from a local Scout group.
At the Go Vap Youth Protection Center in Ho Chi Minh City, L’Oréal employees, together with the Scouts, guided 130 children under the center’s care in scout survival skills and basic healthcare practices.

Furthermore, through its Beauty For The Better Life Training Center, L’Oréal Vietnam during the month held free classes in makeup and skincare for more than 120 women, equipping them with new skills and enhancing their confidence.
Across these activities, L’Oréal focused on climate change mitigation through biodiversity and forest ecosystem restoration at Cat Tien National Park—an important UNESCO Biosphere Reserve site. The company also supported disadvantaged youth in Ho Chi Minh City through soft skills training programs designed as educational and recreational activities for 230 underprivileged and street children.
According to L’Oréal Vietnam, every activity, whether large or small, is fueled by the passion and commitment of its employees. The company believes its CSR values inspire kindness and community responsibility across society.
L’Oréal Citizen Day
Every year on August 21, L’Oréal Vietnam marks L’Oréal Citizen Day. The company emphasizes that this is not merely an annual event but a meaningful tradition—a day when the entire L’Oréal “family” worldwide pauses regular work to dedicate their time and energy to meaningful community contributions.
As a beauty, cosmetics, and skincare company, L’Oréal sees Citizen Day as the embodiment of its “Beauty for All” spirit—not only creating beauty for people but also for life and society.
Citizen Day is a global volunteering initiative, where employees from all L’Oréal affiliates dedicate their time, skills, and passion to support local communities.
Since its global launch in 2009, the event has attracted over 5,000 participants in Vietnam, reaffirming L’Oréal’s long-term commitment to social responsibility and positive community impact. The program allows employees to take part in activities such as reforestation, ecosystem restoration, and skills training for vulnerable groups.
Citizen Day represents L’Oréal’s values in action—an annual opportunity to build a brighter future for communities through collective participation and meaningful change.
Globally, L’Oréal Citizen Day continues to expand in reach and impact, reflecting the company’s sustainable development strategy, L’Oréal For The Future, which integrates environmental responsibility and social inclusion into its core mission.
“What makes Citizen Day special is the energy, generosity, and dedication of our employees. By volunteering their time and skills, they prove that beauty is not only found in beauty products but also in actions that improve people’s lives,” said Nguyen Ngoc Tuyet Trinh, deputy general director of Communications and Sustainable Development, L’Oréal Vietnam.
At the Citizen Day event on August 21 this year, Wagih Ahmed, general director of L’Oréal Vietnam, said the day is not only a tradition but also a powerful reminder that beauty only truly matters when it transcends products and touches lives.
“Citizen Day is one of my proudest moments at L’Oréal. It reminds us that beauty is not just created in laboratories or sold in stores, but also built together with the community over the past 16 years. Citizen Day has become a cornerstone of our identity, as it embodies our mission to create not only beauty but also a better world through beauty,” said Ahmed.
Since 2009, Citizen Day has given every employee the chance to contribute to meaningful initiatives—from reforesting ecosystems, teaching skills to vulnerable groups, renovating eight classrooms in remote schools in Ben Tre and Binh Phuoc, building three playgrounds for elementary schools, constructing four charity houses for disadvantaged families, to restoring five hectares of mangrove forest in Can Gio and regenerating the Nam Cat Tien forest ecosystem since 2022.
“Citizen Day is our annual opportunity to put our values into action. It is a time to build a better future for the community with the hands of all our employees,” said Ahmed.
He added that the company’s CSR efforts prove one thing: when people unite, when corporate goals align with community benefits, extraordinary things can be achieved.
