Mekong Delta digital transformation week kicks off in Hau Giang

HCMC – The Mekong Delta Digital Transformation and Innovation Startup Week 2023 was held in Hau Giang Province last week, facilitating digital transformation in various fields and boosting entrepreneurial ecosystems.

The event was jointly organized by the Hau Giang People’s Committee and the HCMC Computer Association, or HCA.

It featured over 90 exhibition booths, four times higher than in 2022. With nine specialized seminars, eight sideline activities and 60 experts and speakers, the event attracted over 3,000 attendees.

The event received positive feedback from the technology business community and strong support from the Ministry of Information and Communications and Science and Technology.

“HCA expects that this event will help facilitate digital transformation in Hau Giang Province and improve connectivity in the Mekong Delta region. It also lays a foundation for HCA to continue researching and implementing information technology applications and digital transformation activities in the region,” Lam Nguyen Hai Long, chairman of HCA and director of Quang Trung Software City, said.

Phan Tan Thanh, director of the Ca Mau Department of Science and Technology, emphasized the significance of the event in providing guidance and opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop their startup ideas and ultimately create valuable products for society.

Moreover, the event showcased Hau Giang’s ambition to become an attractive destination for businesses and investors, with favorable mechanisms, policies, investment opportunities and resources in the field of information technology, according to Dong Van Thanh, chairman of the Hau Giang People’s Committee.

During the Mekong Delta Digital Transformation and Innovation Startup Week 2023, the Saigon Times Foundation, along with companies and organizations such as FSI Investment and Development Technology JSC, Digi-texx, Vietbuild, Chuo Senko Vietnam Co., Ltd., and many others, awarded numerous scholarships worth VND516 billion to students in Hau Giang Province.
