Meliá Hotels International is expanding its footprint in Vietnam with the addition of two new properties in Sapa, following agreements with BB Group Hospitality and Sapa Mountain Resort LLC.
The move brings the Spanish hotel group’s portfolio in Vietnam to 22 operational properties and four under development, further strengthening its presence in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing tourism markets.
The newly added BB Hotel Sapa and BB Sapa Resort & Spa mark Meliá’s entry into the northern hillside town of Sapa, renowned for its terraced rice fields, rich hill tribe culture, and mountainous landscapes popular with trekkers. Both properties have been integrated under the “Affiliated by Meliá” brand, which emphasizes a strong connection to local culture while infusing European charm and Spanish hospitality.
Under a separate agreement with Sapa Mountain Resort LLC, BB Sapa Resort & Spa will be rebranded as Meliá Sapa Mountain Resort after one year. The 77-room property features interiors inspired by local ethnic cultures, wooden facades reminiscent of European chalets, and extensive wellness amenities, including a spa, gym, and indoor heated pool.
BB Hotel Sapa, located near Central Square, will be rebranded as Hotel Sapa Square, Affiliated by Meliá. The 57-room hotel offers a rooftop sky lounge with panoramic views, a terrace café, a fine dining restaurant, and spa facilities.
The new additions follow Meliá’s late-2024 partnership with BB Group for Kobi Onsen Hue, a hot springs resort in Hue now operating under the Affiliated by Meliá brand.
