HCMC – Vietnam’s National Assembly (NA) will hold an extraordinary session in late February 2025 to revise laws related to organizational structures at the NA, the Government and local authorities, said NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
The session will focus on amending the Law on the Organization of the NA, the Law on the Organization of the Government, and the Law on the Organization of Local Governments. The reforms aim to streamline the political system and improve governance.
Man was speaking during the opening of the NA Standing Committee’s 40th session on December 10. The Party Central Committee is scheduled to hold a plenum in mid-February, just ahead of the extraordinary NA session.
The NA chairman urged immediate enforcement of laws passed during the eighth NA session. These laws require 122 guiding documents, including 60 Government decrees and more than 50 ministerial circulars.
He emphasized preparing new regulations to align with the Party’s policy of creating a lean and efficient administrative system.
The NA Standing Committee’s session will review local administrative reorganizations in Ninh Binh Province and consider new projects for inclusion in the 2025 legislative program. Discussions will also cover draft regulations on managing the Investment Support Fund and administrative penalties for specific roles.
Reports on citizens’ concerns from October and November will be reviewed alongside preparations for the ninth NA session.
