HCMC – The north-central province of Nghe An has set a goal of achieving US$4 billion in merchandise exports by 2025 and US$7 billion by 2030, as outlined in a plan approved by the provincial government.
The province will focus on increasing the proportion of processed industrial goods in its exports to 95% by 2030.
Last year Nghe An achieved record-high export revenue of US$3.1 billion, a 22.6% increase over the previous year. Import spending grew by 4.2% year-on-year to US$1.3 billion.
The province’s primary export commodities include limestone and white limestone powder, apparel, and footwear. Key imported goods comprise hot rolled steel coils, electronic components, and packaging materials.
