HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has approved Nguyen Van Duoc as the new chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 term following his election by the HCMC People’s Council.
This decision, formalized in Decision No. 466/QD-TTg, acknowledged the outcome of the election at the 21st session of the HCMC People’s Council on February 20, where Duoc was elected to the position, reported the Government news website (baochinhphu.vn).
Born in 1968 in Ben Luc District, Long An Province, Nguyen Van Duoc has held various positions, including director of Long An’s Department of Natural Resources and Environment, secretary of the Tan Thach District Party Committee, and vice chairman of the Long An Provincial People’s Committee for two consecutive terms.
He also served as secretary of the Long An Province Party Committee from 2020 to 2025 and chairman of the Long An Provincial People’s Council during the 2016-2021 term.
