HCMC – HCMC on July 3 will conduct Covid-19 tests on 106,327 examinees, proctors and other individuals joining the upcoming national high school exam in the city, according to an urgent dispatch signed on July 1 by HCMC Vice Chairman Duong Anh Duc.
Medical workers on July 3 will collect samples for Covid-19 testing at all of the exam venues in Thu Duc City and the districts citywide. Specifically, 17,052 officials, teachers and 89,275 examinees will have their samples taken.
There will be four shifts to collect samples, with the first shift from 7:30 to 9:00, the second shift from 9:00 to 10:30, the third from 13:00 to 14:30 and the last from 14:30 to 16:00. Examinees will have their samples collected first, while proctors will come after.
The HCMC Department of Health was urged to release the test results on July 4 and 5.
Regarding this year’s national high school exam in the city, the municipal government decided that it will be held in two phases in line with the Ministry of Education and Training’s schedule following the complicated coronavirus situation in the city.
The first phase will take place on July 7 and 8, while the second phase will be organized for candidates who are Covid-19 patients, those in direct and indirect contact with coronavirus cases and those in areas under lockdown.
All examinees and proctors must have a negative test result to participate in the exam.
Aside from Covid-19 tests, all of the exam venues will be equipped with hand sanitizers, face masks and thermometers. Each candidate will sit at one table in each exam room to ensure compliance with social distancing measures. Further, each exam venue will have at least two backup rooms to handle candidates who develop symptoms of fever and a cough.
