HCMC – Four more sections of the North-South Expressway, spanning over 220 kilometers, are slated for completion by April 30, 2025, according to the Ministry of Transport.

The projects comprise Bai Vot-Ham Nghi (35.28 km), Ham Nghi-Vung Ang (54.2 km), Bung-Van Ninh (49 km), and Van Phong-Nha Trang (83 km) sections.

As of now, progress stands at 67.1% for Bai Vot-Ham Nghi, 72.5% for Ham Nghi-Vung Ang, 68.7% for Bung-Van Ninh, and 83.6% for Van Phong-Nha Trang. However, completing the Bai Vot-Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi-Vung Ang sections on schedule remains a significant challenge, despite efforts to accelerate construction.

The Ministry of Transport has emphasized the urgency of fast-tracking critical transport projects, including those with a completion target of April 30, 2025.

Contractors have been directed to intensify their efforts by increasing manpower, deploying additional machinery, and maintaining three work shifts to meet deadlines. Roadbed construction for these projects must be finished by December 31, 2024, to ensure adherence to the overall schedule.

While expediting progress, the Transport Construction Investment Management Authority has stressed that construction quality must not be compromised to meet deadlines. Contractors and investors have been urged to prioritize quality during project execution.

In addition to these expressway projects, two major aviation projects—the Tan Son Nhat Terminal T3 and the Long Thanh Airport runway—are also on track for completion by April 30, 2025, as part of the broader national infrastructure development plan.
