HCMC – More than 3.3 million motorbikes have been made in Vietnam in 2022, according to the General Statistics Office.
Data from the office showed that the volume of locally assembled motorbikes has expanded 9.9% over 2021.
Over one million motorbikes were assembled in Vietnam in the fourth quarter, up 33% over the third quarter and 19.8% from the same period last year.
December alone has seen 351,100 motorbikes turned out, down 0.8% over November and up 4.4% year-over-year.
The soaring volume of assembled motorbikes shows the post-pandemic rebound of Vietnam’s motorcycle production industry.
Still, due to global motorbike parts supply disruptions, motorbike makers in Vietnam failed to meet the market demand in the middle of this year.
The volume of domestically assembled motorbikes is expected to rise in the lead up to the Lunar New Year 2023.
