HCMC – The Ministry of Transport has approved a plan to renovate and upgrade a 70.7-kilometer-long national highway in Quang Nam Province, with a total investment of nearly VND1.85 trillion.
The provincial Department of Transport said on August 5 that National Highway 14E starts at an intersection with the north-south railway in Binh Quy Commune in Thang Binh District and ends at an intersection with Ho Chi Minh Road in Phuoc Son District’s Phuoc Xuan Commune.
The road will be widened to nine meters. After the upgrade, the national highway will allow vehicles to travel at a maximum speed of up to 80 kilometers per hour.
Of the total investment sourced from the State budget, over VN260 billion will be used for compensation and resettlement, and more than VND1.32 trillion for construction costs. The remainder will be spent on other relevant costs.
The project will be executed from now until 2025 and invested by the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam.
The renovation of the road will shorten the travel time, facilitate the transport of goods and farm produce, increase the connectivity between Quang Nam and its neighboring localities and Cambodia and Thailand and boost the province’s economic growth, according to the Ministry of Transport.
