HCMC – PAN Group JSC (HOSE: PAN) reported VND201 billion in profit for the second quarter of this year, sending its first-half profit to VND370 billion, a 39% increase against the same period last year.
In Q2 2024, the company’s revenue reached around VND3.38 trillion, up by 22% year-on-year. Its agricultural business segment recorded a 26% rise in revenue compared to the same period in 2023, while its seafood and packaged food segments grew by 20% and 14%, respectively.
According to the firm, the seafood performance was driven by a recovery in export orders and improved consumer spending in the U.S. and Europe.
For the first six months, the company posted revenue of over VND6.8 trillion, rising 29% versus the same period last year.
Closing the trading session today, July 26, PAN advanced 4.05% against the session earlier to VND23,100, with around 1.25 million shares traded.
The VN-Index rose by 8.92 points, or 0.72%, to close at 1,242.11 points on Friday, with 284 winners and 129 losers.
Stock trade dropped by 5.3% in volume but edged up by 1.1% in value, with 458.8 million shares worth VND11.8 trillion changing hands. Block deals totaled 41.5 million shares valued at VND1.7 trillion.
The VN30-Index, comprising the 30 largest-cap stocks, added nearly 10 points to 1,281.84 points, with 22 advancers and three decliners.
VRE underperformed with a 2.03% decrease. VHM and VJC declined by 0.13% and 0.09%, respectively.
POW rose the highest, up 5.04% to VND13,550 on a trading volume of 12.85 million shares.
Meanwhile, BCM, MSN and FPT were significant contributors to the main index, collectively adding nearly 3 points. BCM jumped by 4.9% to VND72,500. MSN and FPT increased by 4.2% and 2.4% at VND74,000 and VND128,000, respectively.
HVN rebounded by 3.47% to VND20,900 after a 10-session losing streak, including six limit-down days. HVN was the sixth most traded stock with 9.68 million shares exchanged.
The technology sector saw strong performances led by FPT, with a 2.4% rise. Other stocks in the sector such as ICT, CMG and CTR also gained 2.68%, 5.81% and 3.1%, respectively.
The securities sector had mixed results, with minor fluctuations of around 1%. VIX was the most actively traded stock on the southern exchange, with 20.24 million shares traded.
The HNX-Index of the Hanoi Stock Exchange also ended higher, with 97 gainers and 65 decliners. The HNX-Index added 1.4 points, or 0.6%, to 236.66 points, with a trading volume of 32.78 million shares valued at VND658 billion.
