HCMC – On the eighth day of Tet, a large number of passengers from northern and central provinces are still arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The airport is forecast to handle 969 flights today, February 17, with 860 of them passenger flights, 100 ferry flights and nine cargo flights.
A daily average of 150,000 passengers come and go at Tan Son Nhat during the Lunar New Year holiday. However, in the post-Tet period, the number might be higher.
Today, Tan Son Nhat expects to accommodate 344 domestic flights with 70,263 passengers onboard, or 204 passengers per flight.
Airlines have reported near-full bookings for flights bound for HCMC, with seat occupancy reaching 98% to 100%.
