P&G Vietnam: 30 years of citizenship and lasting impact

Must read

In 2025, P&G Vietnam marks three decades of presence in the country. Beyond offering trusted everyday essentials, the company has steadily built a reputation for its commitment to community, sustainability, and equality. Through flagship initiatives that deliver safe drinking water, restore forests, and empower future generations, P&G continues to stand at the forefront of social corporate responsibility (CSR), proving that growth and goodness can truly go hand in hand.

Clean water for families in need

This April, P&G Vietnam, together with Saigon Co.op and the Vietnam Red Cross Society, continued the global Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) program on its 20th anniversary. Through this partnership, three million liters of safe water were delivered to families facing shortages.

Consumers have been central to this effort over the past three years. Every purchase of P&G products at Saigon Co.op supermarkets contributed directly to the program, turning daily shopping into a way of helping others. This unique model of partnership and consumer engagement highlights P&G Vietnam’s leadership in mobilizing collective action for community well-being.

Since its entry into Vietnam in 2016, CSDW has provided more than 90 million liters of clean drinking water to nearly 150,000 households in over 10 provinces. The launch of Phase II this year will expand its reach to six more provinces.

Planting roots for a greener Vietnam

Environmental stewardship has become another hallmark of P&G’s work in Vietnam. Now in its third year, the Forests for Good – Vì Một Việt Nam Xanh initiative, run with Central Retail Vietnam, continues to bring volunteers and partners together to restore forests.

Forests for Good is about more than trees — it’s about connections between people, nature, and communities

In September, more than 160 employees and leaders joined hands with the Gaia Nature Conservation Center at Ta Kou Nature Reserve in Binh Thuan, planting 1,000 new trees. Since its start in 2023, the program has spread across Thanh Hoa, Dong Nai, Ca Mau, Hau Giang, and Binh Thuan, with an ambitious goal of 35,000 trees by the end of 2025. Each tree planted not only strengthens ecosystems and biodiversity but also helps local communities build more resilient livelihoods.

Equality and opportunity for the next generation

For nearly three decades, P&G Vietnam has made gender equality and youth empowerment core priorities. Inside the company, this means policies that support diversity and inclusion. Outside, it translates into programs that give women and young people more opportunities to thrive.

PEAKathon Vietnam Training Camp helps prepare the next generation of leaders

The “Chắp Cánh Ước Mơ” (Wings for Dreams) Scholarship Program, which has been running for nearly three decades, has supported over 4,000 students, enabling them to pursue education and brighter future. Meanwhile, initiatives like PEAKathon, Go to Campus, and the “Tìm Kiếm Ứng Viên Tài Năng” (Looking for Gifted Candidates) competition provide training and skills that prepare young people for the job market.

At the same time, P&G in realizing its commitment to gender equality also invests in women-owned businesses through the Supplier Diversity Program and the Women Entrepreneurs Academy, offering training, resources, and opportunities to help women scale their ventures sustainably.

A legacy of impact

Over the past 30 years, P&G Vietnam has become more than a household name. Its efforts have been recognized with national awards, highlighting how multinational companies can play an active role in sustainable development.

Looking ahead, P&G Vietnam sees its anniversary not just as a milestone, but as a renewed promise: to support families, protect the planet, promote equality, and ensure that business success is paired with lasting social impact.
