PNJ gains hefty profit in 2024

HCMC – Phu Nhuan Jewelry JSC, whose PNJ shares are listed on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, posted impressive financial results in 2024, with its after-tax profit exceeding VND2.1 trillion.

PNJ’s earnings report shows that the jewelry maker recorded total net revenue of VND8,581 billion and after-tax profit of VND733 billion in Q4.

Its average gross profit margin rose to 20.9% from 17.9% in the same period of 2023, driven by improvements in cost of goods sold and the results from cost optimization initiatives.

In 2024, PNJ gained net revenue of VND37,823 billion and after-tax profit of VND2,115 billion, up by 14.1% and 7.3% year-on-year, respectively. Of this, revenue from the jewelry segment accounted for 68.3%.

Closing the trading session today, January 23, PNJ climbed 1.36% to VND97,100 per share, with 560,300 shares changing hands.

On the southern bourse, the VN-Index shot up by 17.1 points, or 1.38% against the previous session, closing at 1,259.63 points, with 363 winners and 86 losers.

More than 542.4 million shares worth VND13.2 trillion were traded, up by nearly 7% in volume and 10% in value compared to yesterday’s session. Block deal transactions totaled more than VND46.8 million shares worth a total of VND1.3 trillion.

None of the stocks in the VN30 group declined. While VIC, VHM, SSB, and BVH closed at their reference prices, the remaining stocks all recorded gains.

The top performers, contributing most positively, were MWG, up 3.1% to VND59,200, FPT, up 3.1% to VND154,300, and SSI, up 3.1% to VND25,100.

HPG, SSI, TCB, and VPB were the four most traded stocks on the exchange, with trading volumes ranging from 15.7 million to over 26.4 million shares.

On the northern market, the HNX-Index advanced by 1.99 points, or 0.9%, over the previous day to 222.67 points, with 123 winners and 39 losers. The total trading volume surpassed 37.7 million shares worth VND39.7 billion.
