HCMC – Tan Son Nhat International Airport expects to welcome an average of 125,000 passengers a day during the National Day holiday peak from August 30 to September 2, about 6% more than current levels, the airport authority said.
During the four-day period, the airport is scheduled to operate around 730 flights daily, up 6%, with 430 domestic and 300 international services. Most of the increase will be on domestic routes.
Of the 125,000 passengers expected each day, about 75,000 will be domestic travelers and 50,000 international, compared with the current daily average of 118,000.
The busiest days are forecast to be August 30, for outbound domestic travel, and September 2, for inbound, with some 750 flights carrying 130,000 passengers.
Tan Son Nhat International Airport said it has completed the transfer of domestic flights operated by Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Vasco, Bamboo Airways and Vietravel Airlines to the new Terminal T3, in coordination with carriers and airport service providers.
VietJet Air’s domestic flights will continue to operate from Terminal T1.
Earlier, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) asked airlines and aviation units to ensure smooth passenger services during the National Day holiday.
Carriers were told to closely monitor bookings and ticket sales and adjust schedules by adding flights on high-demand routes, especially to and from Hanoi before and after the holiday.
