Three South Koreans wanted by Interpol get arrested in HCMC

HCMC – The HCMC police, in collaboration with the Department of Cyber ​​Security and Hi-tech Crime Prevention, have arrested three South Koreans wanted by Interpol for high-tech crimes.

The three individuals are Jeong Kiwon, 49; Park Jaihyung, 40; and Jang WooJin, 43. Jeong Kiwon and Jang WooJin entered Vietnam in March this year, while Park Jaihyung moved to the country in September last year.

They entered Vietnam under the guise of investors and foreign experts and were guaranteed by some businesses in HCMC to legitimize their visa and temporary residence card applications.

As per the Interpol red notice, all the three individuals set up and operated online gambling and betting websites and ran an online slot game system in Vietnam for profit.

After entering Vietnam, they did not reside at their declared addresses and hid at various locations in the city.

The HCMC police arrested the trio and several related persons and seized many devices related to their illegal activities. The three were handed over to the Korean authorities through the Tan Son Nhat International Airport on May 26.
