HCMC – A staggering 58% of Vietnam’s total tax revenue in 2022 came from 1,000 leading corporate taxpayers, according to the General Department of Taxation.
However, the department has not yet provided the exact amounts these enterprises paid last year.
Data spanning seven years, from 2016 to 2022, indicated that 301 of these companies have consistently featured on the list of the top 1,000 corporate taxpayers (V1000). However, the V1000 for 2022 lacked 331 companies that were present in 2021. Reasons for these changes range from tax prepayments and unique transactional activities to downsizing and reduced profitability.
For conglomerates and companies with multiple branches, all their tax contributions are considered collectively.
Among these, significant contributors are notable entities like Vietcombank, Military Industry-Telecoms Group, Honda Vietnam, Agribank, PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation, BIDV, Samsung Electronics Thai Nguyen Company, MBBank, and Mobile World Investment Corporation.
