HCMC – The Ministry of Transport has proposed that the prime minister approve the pre-feasibility study report on the expansion of the Cam Lo-La Son Expressway.
This nearly 100-km project, part of the eastern North-South Expressway, begins at the end point of the Van Ninh-Cam Lo component in Quang Tri Province and ends at the starting point of the La Son-Hoa Lien component in Thua-Thien Hue Province.
Under the proposal, the expressway will be expanded from two to four lanes, with the road width increasing from 11 meters to 20.5 meters.
In addition to upgrading and expanding the main lanes, the project will also invest in the installation of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), electronic toll collection systems (ETC), and weight inspection stations along the segment.
The project’s total investment is estimated at VND7 trillion, which will be funded by the State budget.
Commencing the preparation process this year, the Cam Lo-La Son Expressway project is scheduled for completion in 2025.
